A poem penned by poet Pooja Nansi; a lyrical ode that reflects New Bahru’s mission — born from a vision for a soulful, creative space in Singapore that honours the past while looking boldly to the future.
BAHRU comes to life as a permanent art installation at New Bahru. It is the latest addition to New Bahru’s growing collection of public art, extending from the Now Now series of large-format photographic works by local artists.

For a limited time at ECA: Pit Stop, New Bahru and The Gentlemen’s Press invite you to try your hand at letterpress printing, breathing ink into the words of BAHRU — a poem woven into the spirit of this space.
Choose the lines and prints that speak to you, then step up to the press to hand-print your very own postcard — poetry transformed into a keepsake to keep, gift, or send across the world. Each piece is a fragment of New Bahru’s spirit set in ink through one of the most tactile, time-honoured printmaking techniques.
All proceeds will support AFTERIMAGE Press, a Singapore publisher championing local literary voices.
